Who Will Win The College Football Playoff Championship?

My vote is already in incase y'all are wondering who I am rooting for.

National Championship winner?

My main man, Mark Schlabach, has already made his predictions for the playoffs and I could not agree with him more. Check out his article. I am actually predicting Clemson to win Oklahoma by about 34-31. Last second field goal for the tigers is what will give them the win in the Orange Bowl. Why I believe Clemson will win? Easy. Deshaun Watson. He was a Heisman finalist and of course, Clemson has been perfect the entire season. Now that does not mean I would over look Baker Mayfield. I am actually more impressed with his stats than I am with Watson. Do you remember the Russell Athletic Bowl last year? That turned out pretty ugly for the Sooners. Maybe they will avenge from their lost from last year. Schlabach has predictions for Oklahoma to win by 34-31. We shall see who is right.

Every Sparty fan that actually thinks they have a chance of winning against the mighty tide, y'all might want to start praying for a miracle. Alabama has been non-stop winning ever since they lost to Ole Miss. I can say that with that loss, it has made them stronger as a team and also improved their momentum by a lot. Schlabach is predicting Alabama to win Michigan State by 27-17. I have complete faith in the Heisman winner, Derek Henry and Jake Coker to run that offense all the way to the end zone quite a few times in the Cotton Bowl. I am predicting a win for Alabama by 35-13. No other defense in the nation has been able to stop Derek Henry from scoring and I know Michigan State will not be able to do that with their defense.

Schlabach also concluded in his article that Alabama will win the National College Football Playoff, beating Oklahoma by about 27-21. I agree with the score, except with the win over Clemson. I think Clemson needs a taste of their own medicine. Clemson is a second place team and that is exactly what will happen to them when they play Alabama. Plus, having a Heisman winner win the National Championship is the best outcome for Alabama.

Holy War in Sin City

Do you think BYU will beat Utah?

The Holy war is now coming to sin city. The Las Vegas Bowl is probably the most exciting bowl to be played besides the playoffs. This is an intense rivalry game, it cannot get any better than that! Although, will this be the year that the cougars FINALLY show Utah who is boss? Probably not, here is why..

BYU's offense + Utah's defense =

Those emoji's are referring to the BYU fan if you were wondering...

If you look at my past post "Utah Survives an Upset from California," I state that Utah's defense is actually quite decent. That is probably the nicest thing I will ever say about Utah, but I am not kidding, I really said it, "I will give Utah credit for one thing, their defense is actually pretty good. I was really surprised how well they pressured the offense."

Another threat to BYU is, of course the one and only, Devonate Brooker. He is no where near as awesome as Derek Henry, but he has the potential. He has about 268 carries, 1261 yards, and 11 touchdowns. I still have that poll up for who should be considered for Heisman and apparently everybody is favoring Brooker, so we shall see the outcome.

I will give credit to BYU for one thing, Tanner Magnum is ten times a better quarterback than Travis Wilson. Magnum's stats do show what he is capable of. Magnum can do well under pressure, Wilson not so much.

I am also sure everybody knows that Bronco Mendenhall is leaving (hallelujah), so who do you think will be BYU's head coach? I have some pretty good ideas. I think if BYU wins Utah in the Las Vegas bowl, they will probably try to convince Kyle Whittingham to come back to his alma mater, however, the pay cut would be a tough sell.  The other option BYU has for a coach, which actually surprised me is Darrell Bevell. Those of you who need a refresher, he is the Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator. If you need to be deeply soaked, he led the team to the Super bowl XLVIII win. Pretty cool, right? Maybe he can help BYU get some decent wins.

Alright, the time has come, Who do you think will win? ESPN is already saying Utah is favored to win by 59.6%. Do you agree?

Ohio State 2016 Schedule

If you guys haven't heard yet, Ohio State's wide receiver Michael Thomas has pointed out that Alabama's schedule is weak. Due to Thomas's lack of accuracy in the College Football Rankings, Alabama has played a total of three teams that are still currently ranked, while Ohio State has played two teams that are currently ranked (Michigan State and Michigan...really?). So I thought I would share some great news to Michael Thomas that I have managed to get the 2016 schedule for Ohio State and it looks like it will get a little bit more tougher for them. Take a look.

Rankings Explained

Drum roll please....

Ohio State finally lost!! It is about time the Buckeyes true colors are shown. I have never been a huge fan of the Big Ten before and I probably never will. Just because the team has had a perfect season, does not mean that they are number one in the nation. If any of you saw the Michigan State vs. Ohio State game, you probably were not that impressed. I honestly got tired of watching because both teams struggled offensively. In my opinion, neither team should be ranked. However, the satisfaction of Ohio State losing their winning streak is enough for me.

Below are the official College Football Rankings. The one to the left are the rankings from November 15. The one to the right are the rankings as of November 22.

Some of these rankings actually do not make sense to me. So I thought I would give my reason for these rankings.

I think I did a pretty good job explaining my rankings. I will probably end up doing one for the NFL, but that is for later in the season. This week of college football will be the true test, why? Because its rivalry week. You can always expect the unexpected with rivalries. Two years ago Alabama was all set to go to the championship until Auburn return a field goal kick all the way to the end zone. I was extremely depressed and shocked by that play. It will probably be one of the best plays ever remembered by the SEC.

I would like to see what everybody's favorite part of my "Rankings Explained" is. Also if you could throw in some comments on what you would recommend or even a compliment of my hilarious personality.

May the Odds be in Michigan States Favor

For the college football rankings to actually make sense, Michigan State needs to get the win. Honestly, in my opinion, Ohio State is way overrated. According to ESPN's poll, OSU is favored to win by 79%. Well that does not really surprise me. I do believe this will be a close game. To the right is a funny picture of the college football rankings. Prepare to laugh. This is a short post, I apologize. Vote on the poll, enjoy the game tomorrow!

Who will win?

LSU Taken Down by the Mighty Tide

I need to get this off my chest, I WAS RIGHT. To everyone that told me Alabama would lose to LSU, that Derek Henry is not good enough for Heisman, and that Alabama is overrated. I was right that Alabama would win, LSU, I was right that Derek Henry is number one for Heisman, and I was right that Alabama should be ranked number one in the nation. I just had to let that pride out because I always get told that I am wrong. Well, how do you like them apples y'all?

Derek Henry had a total of 210 YARDS! That man is a beast machine. If you were not impressed with his rushing yards, then you may need to re-watch the game. After this game, Henry will be all that they talk about. Leonard Fournette will probably not be in the conversation for Heisman anymore. Fournette was only able to get 31 yards and he carried the ball 19 times. Clearly, the odds were not in his favor.

I am passionate about sports. I definitely do not like to be told that I am wrong. Although, when I am proven wrong, I find other ways to make it sound like I am right. This was a really good game and I feel bad for the people that live with me and below me because I was screaming and jumping all over the place. More good football games are coming up and I cannot wait to make more predictions. Roll Tide!

Alabama to Break LSU's Winning Streak

I am predicting a very close game between Alabama and LSU. I believe the score will be 31-28 with an Alabama win. This will not be an easy game for Alabama. Actually, it will be their most difficult game of the season so far. Below I have a poll set up. I want everyone to give their honest opinion to which team they think will win. Do not vote for LSU just to make me mad, because it will. However, if you do vote for LSU, there better be a legitimate reason for it.

Who will win?

Alright, lets talk about Heisman first. I am going to start with some statistics. As always, better team first. Derek Henry has made a total of 180 attempts, 1044 yards, and 14 touchdowns this season. Overall in his career, he has made a total of 388 attempts, 2416 yards, and 28 touchdowns. Impressive right? Now for Leonard Fournette. Fournette has made a total of 176 attempts, 1352 yards, and 15 touchdowns this season. Overall in his career, he has a made a total of 363 attempts, 2386 yards, and 25 touchdowns. Lets just all admit something right now, Fournette is on fire this season. However, Henry should not be kept out of the conversation. Henry is a great candidate for Heisman and he definitely deserves it.

We all know how Alabama has been playing offensively this season. It terrifies me, actually. Communication was a huge problem for Alabama in the first few games of the season. Their game plan has changed a lot in the past few games, but they still hit a few bumps in the road. What Alabama needs to do is let Derek Henry run his magic. The offense needs to give him some space so that he can run that ball all the way to end zone. Alabama's defense also has to be on high alert. LSU's offense is very similar to Alabama. Both teams can run the ball well and also defend well. This will be an interesting game.

Again, this is going to be a very close game. So close that I will probably not stay sane throughout the whole game. Both of these teams have a lot of the same things in common that I can't even decide their weaknesses. Get ready for the tide to roll everybody.

Green Packers May Beat The Broncos, Barely

Surprised by my title? Yes, I do think the Packers will beat the Broncos and I will explain later. If anyone has any suggestions or topic's you want me to write on my blog PLEASE leave a comment. I want to hear everyone's opinion and if you want me to make predictions, I will. If you want me to talk about a specific sport, I will. If you want me to brag about Alabama, I will. If you want me to preach about Lenoard Fournette, do not count on it. All the other choices I am willing to do. Also, do not forget to vote on my poll. I want everybody's opinion for Heisman. Although, I am noticing some people are taking an advantage of my voting poll... I have also noticed that no one voted for Derek Henry. What do I have to do to convince you that he is the best running back in the nation? Read this article. He says everything that I would say about Derek Henry, except that he should be considered number one for Heisman.

Alright my Coloradans. I am turning against the Broncos with this game. I'm sure you would all love to hear my thoughts and opinions as to why the Packers would make them 6-1. Well, it is easy, momentum.

The offense is struggling a lot more this year than last year. In 2014, Peyton Manning was ranked 3rd for the best TD-INT (39-15) advantage. This year, he is ranked 25th (7-10). He has been anything but gradual this season. It is hard to guarantee that Peyton will not throw an interception in this game. Marcus Mariota has scored more touchdowns than Petyon, and he is a rookie! That is saying something. Peyton has been playing since 1998, y'all. Petyon is making Tom Brady look real good, unfortunately. Peyton also has no momentum. If he did, he would not have thrown so many interceptions.

So I am posting this really late. I have not had the time at all to make new posts in my blog. This week I had the opportunity to go to San Francisco and visit some of the most powerful companies in the world. It was amazing if anyone was wondering. Again, everyone please leave your comments and suggestions for my sports blog and what you would like to hear. I will be evaluating the Alabama vs LSU game. I will also post my predictions before the game. You all know how I feel about that so I will just keep it at that. It will be the best college football game yet.

Alabama Surpasses Everyone's Expectations

Those of you who expected Alabama to crumble to Texas A&M, you are on my list. I had complete faith and confidence that Alabama would win. Unfortunately, I was not able to watch the game. I did keep track of the scoring plays with my ESPN alerts on my phone and let just say that Derek Henry was on FIRE! 236 yards for a running back? Derek Henry for Heisman everybody.

I do need to lash out some anger to the tv reporters on ESPN. You may skip the next paragraph if my opinions do not entertain you. Alright here we go...

Why in the world is Leonard Fournette from LSU number one in the polls for Heisman?? Has everyone gone mad?! They are even saying Devontae Booker from Utah will be considered for Heisman. Did anyone see the Utah game against Arizona? It was a joke! I will talk about that game later because I watched the whole thing. Fournette stats for this season are incredible, but when we are talking overall career, Derek Henry is number one. Henry has a total of 2273 yards and 26 touchdowns. Henry is a Junior and could go pro by the end of this season. Fournette is a Sophomore and he can take all the pride next year because his stats will be incredible by next season. I want everyone to vote and see who they think should be consider Heisman. Make the right choice everybody.

Who should be considered for Heisman?

Alright let me brag about Alabama now because it is time. Those of you that follow me on Twitter will get the most up-to-date information about how great Alabama is. I do not only tweet about Alabama just so everyone knows that. This video shows just how easy Derek Henry makes these plays look. I have talked about Eddie Jackson before, but let me just say that guy is a beast! He intercepted the ball for a 93-yard touchdown! Alabama ran all over those poor Aggies and they will do that again with Tennessee next week.

Since I did not watch the Alabama football game, I cannot all hail glory to their name. Well, yes I can. Anyways, time to talk about Utah and Arizona. My smirked face says it all. Utah still has not proven to me that they are number four in the nation. Heck, they are ranked number three now. However, everyone is talking this play. It was hilarious!! Below is the video and lets just say that it is just as bad when Utah dropped the ball before the end-zone against Oregon last year. Keep in mind, though, this is what the broadcaster said, "That is absolutely ridiculous." Utah began to improve their offense in the second half. However, there wasn't enough improvement to make me think they are rated correctly. Utah is by far way overrated. If Utah was to play Stanford next week. They are done. If they were to play Alabama, they would quit. I got into a little mishap yesterday because I was all decked out in my Alabama gear and there were some ute fans that believe Utah could beat Alabama. I laughed hysterically because it was the most unrealistic accusation I have ever heard of. I am expecting Alabama to gain redemption from Ohio State and win the championships this year.

I have not decided who I will be evaluating this week. Nothing has really sparked my interest, but something is always bound to happen during the football season. I feel bad for the Michigan fans. Michigan State had a 0.2% win probability when Michigan was making that punt return. What are the chances. You just cannot predict football.

Utah Survives an Upset from California

What a football week. Most of the teams in the Top 10 AP Poll were in jeopardy of an upset. TCU almost lost to Kansas State. Tennessee won Georgia. Florida State was able to avoid an upset against Miami. Michigan State barely sneaked passed the Rutgers with a late touchdown. Then there was Utah and California. Talk about too close for comfort. Utah survived that game is all I can say.

I did say I was going to evaluate the Utah vs. California game. Keep in mind, though of my criticism. Utah did not play like they were the number one ranked team in the country. Honestly, they should not be ranked for how many turnovers there were in the game.

I am surprised that Utah was not able to convert all of those turnovers into touchdowns. Five of California's turnovers were in the first half. I have said this before in my previous post about the Alabama vs. Ole Miss game; no team can win a football game with turnovers. Turnovers are a big part of winning and losing. This article proves my point as to why it is nearly impossible to win football games with so many turnovers. "Any football coach you ask will tell you the one statistic they want an advantage in is turnovers," Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau said. "Every football coach wants that turnover advantage. Turnovers generally decide games with teams so evenly matched." How exactly does the defense create turnovers? They cannot create turnovers. Turnovers are random. The defensive coordinator cannot rely on his defense for turnovers. It is impossible. Not everyone can expect the quarterback to throw an interception and they also cannot expect the carrier to fumble the ball.

I have done some research and found that if the opponent was to make a turnover, the home team is then 73% more likely to win the football game. There are a few ways to measure turnovers; turnover margin, Adj turnover margin, and turnovers luck.  Below is the graph that shows the turnover margin:

I also want to explain other factors that can determine whether the team is going to lose or not. The first one is explosiveness. Explosiveness is 35% out of the 5 factors. Ways to measure that is yards per play, PPP, and PPP+. PPP means points per play or in other words, average points the team could get on that field position spot they are in. The second factor is efficiency and that is 25% out of the 5 factors. Ways to measure that is the success rate and third down conversions. Third is the field position which takes 15%. Ways to measure that is the average starting field position and the field position advantage. Next is finishing drives which are 15%. That is measured by points per trip inside the 40, red zone scoring, and red zone S&P+. S&P is measured by the success rate and the PPP. We have already discussed turnovers, but it is about 10% out of the 5 factors.

Now that I have educated you all about statistics and how they are calculated, here is something you cannot really calculate. That is, what are the chances that the head coach would have this reaction for a turnover?

Anyways, back to Utah and California. I will not even bother trying to calculate the statistics for that game since both teams played poorly. Jared Goff threw five interceptions. If I was the head coach for California I would start second guessing my choice for the starting quarterback. I will give Utah credit for one thing, their defense is actually pretty good. I was really surprised how well they pressured the offense. Clearly that was giving California a hard time, but do not forget that Utah made some mistakes as well. Travis Wilson threw two interceptions. California was able to get a field goal with one of those interceptions. Regardless that California got a field goal, if those interceptions were turned into touchdowns Utah would have lost the game. Utah was able to get two touchdowns and a field goal with those turnovers from California. Again, California had a total of six turnovers and Utah was only able to turn three of those turnovers to points. Utah would have nothing to worry about in the last half of the game if they executed their plays a lot better.

The season of football is my favorite time of the year. I cannot wait for the playoffs because that is the true test to find out who is the best college football team in the nation. There are going to be some really good football games next week. Michigan is playing Michigan State and that is going to be an intense and exciting game. Alabama is playing Texas A&M and I will say I am a little worried because they have been a difficult competitor in past seasons. LSU and Florida will be playing head-to-head for their spot in the top 10 AP poll. I will be evaluating the Alabama vs. Texas A&M game next week and be prepared for the tide to roll through. Roll Tide!

Alabama Proves They Mean Business

What a game! I was really pleased with how Alabama played offensively and defensively. Throughout the whole week, everyone told me that there was no way Alabama would be able to pull through. The reasons were that Georgia had the best running back and quarterback in the SEC. Well how do you like them apples Georgia fans?! What made you all to think that you had the best running back and quarterback in the SEC? Nick Cubb, besides his cool name, did not impress me at all. He did not have the qualities that I would expect for someone to have if they were to go pro. Oh Greyson Lambert. He just seemed so lost in the game. He had no rushing yards. Like really, the quarterback has to run at some point. At least he did not get sacked during his time on the field. I would recommend you all to check out my twitter and see the videos I tweet about. They show all the awesome plays Alabama made in that game. In the next few paragraphs, I will be boasting about how great Alabama played. If you do not like Alabama, you may want to skip to the last paragraph. Otherwise, roll tide.

Jake Coker is the man. I was extremely impressed with how well he threw his passes. The weather can always be a factor for any team in a football game, but it did not seem to affect him at all. Coker's average for completing passes was about 68.8%. Lambert, however, had an average of about 41.7%. Ouch. Coker, even found some opportunities to run the ball himself and he even got a touchdown. Overall, Coker did very well this game. He threw some really far passes, the longest pass he threw was 50 yards and it was caught. Coker is going to do some amazing things for Alabama in the future!

Derek Henry is also my man. He is a beast and plays like he should in the pros. He gave Alabama's first touchdown of the game with this awesome play. He averaged at about 5.7 rushing yards. That is pretty good when the team is at a 3rd and short situation. He proved in that game that he is the best running back in the nation, not just the SEC. If he ends up going pro after the end of this season, I would not be surprised.

So many glorious plays were made in this game that I just had to share them with you. My favorite play so far in this college football season was when Georgia was about to punt the ball and my man Minkah Fitzpatrick, blocked the punt and brought the ball to the end-zone for a touchdown! Another play was when Georgia had possession of the ball and Brice Ramsey passed the ball. I believe he was trying to pass it to Terry Godwin, but Eddie Jackson was right in front of him and intercepted the ball and ran it all the way to the end-zone for a touchdown! Alabama had a lot of awesome plays, but the last one I want to share is Coker's longest pass of the game. Alabama was in Georgia's 45-yard line and Coker threw the ball all the way to Calvin Ridley, who was at Georgia's 1-yard line when he caught it for a touchdown! It was a really beautiful play I must say.

I could boast forever about how great Alabama is at football. Nick Saban said that he has always believed in his team since the beginning. So many critics lash to Alabama about dropping down in the polls, that there is no hope for them to succeed this football season and that Nick Saban should think about retiring after this season. Nick Saban proved them wrong in this article written by Alex Scarborough. "It's not going to be for you...because if it was up to you, we're 6 feet under already. We're dead and buried and gone! Gone!"- Nick Saban

Alright, non-Alabama fans, this is probably the part you will like to read. Although, I do strongly recommend to read the rest of my blog and see if anyone can prove me wrong. I may or may not will be attending BYU's football this week. Due to the lack of interest in the opponent, I may end up evaluating the Utah vs. California game. I have been really surprised how Utah has been performing this football season and I need to witness this in person. To all Georgia fans, that picture is for you. You are welcome.

BYU Gets Pummeled by Michigan

What a week of football. I do not even know if I would consider any football games this week a good game. The score was either 0-31 or 62-12. Some teams just got pummeled and I was actually expecting a decent game.

BYU played Michigan at the big house and I was expecting a very competitive and intense game. I listened to the first half of the game through the radio since I did not have access to a TV. I really could not believe what I was hearing. It was touchdown after touchdown after touchdown, and BYU was playing so poorly. The radio broadcaster even said that Jake Rudock, who is the Michigan quarterback, was not a good quarterback whatsoever. He just happened to play well with BYU. Maybe it is because BYU was making way too many mistakes. Either way, this game really made BYU look bad. I was able to watch the third quarter. Eventually, I stopped watching because BYU was not playing at their best and I honestly did not enjoy the game. I am sure a lot of BYU fans were disappointed and we will see how they against UCONN next week.

Since BYU did not play at their best, I decided to watch other games because I needed at least a good football game to watch, right? Alabama played UL Monroe. Exactly what you are thinking, it is a no brainer. Of course Alabama was going to win and they did! The score was 34-0 and that was exactly what I expected. This was the perfect game for Bateman to get more comfortable on the field and also develop more skills. I read this article recently and I really liked what the writer had to say about Coker. Nick Saban has not officially named his starting quarterback yet and there is a good reason why Coker would be frustrated. I was disappointed that they started Bateman last week with Ole Miss. In my opinion, a Freshman should not be a starting quarterback for one of the toughest games in the season. The true test will come next week. Alabama will be visiting Georgia next week and I will be honest, I am terrified. I know Georgia is doing very well this season, unfortunately. Alabama's biggest threat will be Malcolm Mitchell. He is Georgia's wide receiver. I could definitely see him going pro. By the end of this season he could definitely be in the top 50 best wide receivers in college football.

So I want to mention the Utes for a moment.

What in the world happened!! 62-10?? I would expect that from Oregon, but Utah?! I am convinced that I am in a bad dream and Utah is the reason for it. I knew Wilson just got back from a shoulder sprain he had and he was still able to throw 227 yards! I am still speechless. Anyways, let's see how they play with California next week. Time will tell if it is luck or pure talent.

Next week I will be evaluating the Alabama vs. Georgia game. I apologize in advance if I only write about my anxiety and frustration for that game. It will be intense and my heart rate will for sure escalade.

Alabama Falls to Ole Miss

Wow. I am absolutely shocked how this game turned out. I was expecting a huge redemption from last season's loss to Ole Miss. I still cannot comprehend what happened. I may need a few days to recover from this loss. I do have to take responsibility for this loss. The reason is because I called my father to rub in his face that Auburn was destroyed by LSU. Apparently I cursed myself. Word of advice: never call your father to rub in his face that his team lost until your team has won.

There are a few items of business I want to talk about. Both teams played well offensively. However, there were a few mistakes that gave Ole Miss easy points.

First and foremost, I do not understand why Nick Saban decided to let Cooper Bateman start the game. He is a great quarterback, but there is a lot of improvements he needs to make. I understand that they want him to be comfortable on the field, but it is just way too risky to have a freshman start the game. Bateman had three turnovers during his time on the field. Those three turnovers gave Ole Miss 17 points in the first half. Another thing I noticed about Bateman was that accuracy was a weakness for him. He would throw the ball when the receiver was not even looking. Communication is key when making passes and Bateman was struggling with that. Nick Saban needs to decide who he wants to be his starting quarterback, because switching back and forth between quarterbacks makes them look very messy on the field. They are all over the place and cannot seem to find their rhythm. If I was to decide, I would pick Jake Coker. He can make some really good passing plays and can also run the ball. Coker is very confident on the field and that is something every head coach should be looking for in a starting quarterback.

I just had to let some steam out about the quarterback situation. I am clearly way too passionate about it.

Now that I got the quarterback situation off my chest, time to talk about Alabama's offense. Alabama's offense is mostly consumed with really large linemen. That has actually caused some problems for Ole Miss's defense. Alabama's offense is bigger than them, so power would not be a way to stop them. Ole Miss is actually trying to work better on their speed so that they can slow Alabama down. Clearly in the first half Alabama's offense was not doing so hot. There were three turnovers and two of those happened on the kick-off returns. They also did not make a lot of third down conversions. By the fourth quarter, Alabama was able to control the line of scrimmage and make some touchdowns.

Alabama's defense on the other hand, is pretty dang good. Those defensive linemen are also huge. Alabama's defense made it really difficult for Ole Miss to make running plays. Ole Miss had to figure out a strategy in order to make touchdowns, and they eventually figured it out. There were a few plays that Ole Miss made that got my jaw to drop. My jaw didn't drop because it was an awesome play, it dropped because those plays were never supposed to work out. There was a play in the third quarter when the snap went over Kelly's head, he then grabbed it and threw it as hard as he could to the wide receiver he saw first. That wide receiver didn't catch it, but it bounced off his hand and landed on the other wide receiver's hand and he was then able to make a touchdown. It was completely unpredictable and also incredibly frustrating.

I would like to take a moment and explain my gratitude towards Derek Henry. He is by far the best running back in the SEC and I believe the best in the nation.

I honestly cannot believe what I witnessed in that game. It was the worst home loss I have seen in a long time. Alabama made way too many mistakes, especially with the turnovers. No team will ever win if there are too many turnovers, it is just not possible. If Alabama did not make that many turnovers, they would have dominated the game. I think what caused Alabama to have such a bad start was starting the game with Bateman. That guy is talented and he will get better over time, but it was just not a smart move to have him start. Nick Saban even said that Coker was the qualified quarterback Alabama was looking for. Hopefully Alabama will learn from these mistakes that they have made and do better in the next game. Alabama will be playing UL Monroe and that would be the game I would let Bateman start out because well, it is an easy win.

Overall, the football games today were not so great. My predictions were somewhat correct. I was expecting Alabama to win, unfortunately my heart was broken. I was expecting BYU to lose, and they did! Some news to the BYU fans, pride and luck only lasts so long. I will be evaluating the BYU vs. Michigan game. I honestly think BYU may have a chance to win Michigan. I guess it is just all up to Jim Harbaugh to prepare Michigan for BYU's luck, if it still exists.

BYU With Another Hail Mary Win Against Boise State

I had the opportunity to attend this football game and I will just say that it was one crazy game. I have a sports pass to all the sports events held at BYU, so of course I cannot miss the football games.

Everyone has their own speculation of who they predict will win the game. I was 100% sure BYU was going to lose to Boise State. After what happened last week with the game in Nebraska, BYU gets a Hail Mary when there was only 1 second left in the clock. In my opinion, they got lucky. So lucky. God answered their prayers because there was no way it was going to happen again. I do not see that much talent in BYU's football team for them to beat Boise State. Of course they proved me wrong, but let me give you the reasons why I thought Boise State was going to win:

1) They are (were) ranked No. 20 in the AP Top 25.
2) Jeremy McNichols (RB) is a threat. That guy can break tackles.
3) Taysom Hill is out for the season and that can affect the way BYU plays.
4) Adam Hine (RB) is BYU's best running back. Unfortunately, BYU cannot run the football.
5) Boise State's strategy is less predictable than BYU.
6) BYU's coaching staff are still there.

Now, some of my points were proven wrong from the game yesterday, but I still believe BYU is very weak in certain areas of football. Clearly it did not matter that Boise State was ranked. Boise State did not play like they were a ranked team. In most scenarios, BYU usually loses to a ranked team. Did they play like they were a ranked team? No, and here is why. BYU's offense was very messy on the field. When they were making a passing play nothing seemed to go according to plan. More pressure would then be added to Tanner and then he would either get sacked or throw an interception. BYU also has no clue when it is appropriate to run the football. Boise State made a punt return that landed on BYU's one-yard line. What does BYU decide to do? Run the ball. I mean what planet is the offensive coordinator on? They only made a one yard gain after that and they still decided to run the ball! Passing is to cover more yards and running is to cover less yards. It is that simple. I will be honest, Adam Hine is not the best running back. BYU was actually losing yards running the ball than throwing it. That's a problem. The quarterback cannot always be making passing plays. There is more risk for interceptions and the defense can easily predict what is going to happen. Also, every time BYU ran the ball, they could never make third down conversations. Why would you want to waste possession of the ball when you are behind ten points? Now about BYU's defense... I will be honest, it was not bad, but still needs improvement. Boise State was able to stop Adam Hine, but BYU could not stop Jeremy McNichols. He was able to get 1st down conversions and eventually turned those into touchdowns.

Tanner Mangum actually surprised me. He does well under pressure, who knew? He is one of the few quarterbacks that can actually throw long passes and turn those into touchdowns. BYU literally had two weeks of miracles, but I am not calling the touchdown when there was 45 seconds on the clock a Hail Mary. There was still enough time on the clock for another desperate score attempt.

Bottom line, it was a really fun game to be at. The energy was crazy, the fans were amazing and that was probably the best BYU football game I have ever been to. Will BYU win to UCLA next week? Do you really want me to tell you? Of course I am going to say no. BYU has got to step it up. They need to strategize their running plays so that get can get 1st downs. They need to protect Tanner's blind side because he got sacked four times in that game. They also need to prepare the defense for UCLA's offense, BYU got a few pass interference penalties so they need to be careful.

Other than that, it was a good football week. Alabama won Mid Tennessee. Auburn almost lost to Jacksonville State and it actually caused Auburn to drop 12 spots from the AP poll. It would be music to my ears if that happened to Ohio State, but we will wait for the rematch. Notre Dame almost lost to Virginia, but they saved themselves with a touchdown within the last few seconds of the game. I will be evaluating Alabama's game next week. They will be playing Ole Miss and I am expecting another win for Bama!
